A Passion for Art, a Foundation in Education

For as long as I can remember, art has been my primary language. That lifelong passion led me to earn a BFA in Art, with concentrations in both Painting and Education.

I’ve always lived by the principle that if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough. During my five years teaching in an elementary school setting, I specialized in distilling professional fine art techniques into a foundational framework that children could truly master. My goal has never been just to "teach art," but to make the complex feel intuitive.

18 Years of Homeschooling Experience

When I became a mother, my "classroom" moved home. I’ve spent the last 18 years as a homeschooling mom, navigating the same schedules, challenges, and joys that you face every day. My own children have grown up with Art Day projects at the center of their education. I know firsthand how a high-quality art curriculum doesn't just teach drawing—it builds confidence, focus, and critical thinking.

From the Gallery to Your Living Room

I don't just teach art; I live it. I am a professional artist with a history of solo and group exhibitions in Charlotte galleries, and I’ve been invited to speak at Universities as both an artist and an expert educator. With an extensive background in Special Education and experience teaching every age group from Kindergarten to seniors, I have a unique ability to make professional techniques accessible, success-oriented, and fun for every type of learner.

The Art Day Mission

I created Art Day Foundations, Art Day Studio, and Art Day Academy to give homeschool families access to premium, fine art instruction without the stress of planning. My mission is to provide your children with a safe, creativity-nourishing space where they can develop real skills on a schedule that works for your family.
